| It was 1981 when Avon Platinum Executive Leader, President’s Club seller Lisa Wilber dropped out of high school and left the United States for Guam. Having had her first job at age 13, the always-independent Lisa knew she never wanted to depend on anyone for money so she signed up with Avon and became her own Beauty Boss. When she returned to the States, Lisa continued to manage her Avon business while working a full-time secretarial job. She was laid off from her positon in 1987. Having reached a crossroad in her career, Lisa decided to take a closer look at earning more from her business. “I decided to really work my Avon business. It took a couple of years, but I was able to replace my former full-time job salary,” says Lisa. She achieved President’s Council and later moved into Leadership. “Leadership was the game changer for me. It’s allowed me to design my future and live what I call “an Avon lifestyle”!” she says. Today, her Beauty Boss lifestyle includes owning a multi-million dollar business, leading a team of 3,500 Representatives, travelling with Avon and writing entrepreneurial success books for women. Lisa was recently honored with an invitation to speak at the Ambitious Women’s Conference, the premier conference for women in network marketing and direct sales. Lisa says Avon has widened the door to many opportunities for her. One such opportunity was taking on the role of single mother at age 42 by adopting a newborn daughter, Lydia, who is now 11 years old. “When you meet someone, it’s not always a face cream or lipstick they need,” she says. “Sometimes what they need is money. Avon’s best product is the opportunity.” Hometown: Weare, NH Before Avon I was a... young adult looking to earn an income. I joined Avon because... Top Tip to New Representatives: Stay motivated by building an alliance with other Representatives who are not a part of your team. In my mastermind team “The Formidable Four,” we are competitive with each other, but also buddies who hang out together and cheer each other on. All four of us were in the top 20 in group volume increase last year. Goals for 2017: Live the Boss Life! Attend RepFest ’17, achieve the Vacation Like a Boss trip to Paradise Island, Bahamas (seated at the front of the plane), and achieve over $10 million in team sales.
